New location at Riemekaai 75 strengthens logistics capacity and sustainable ambitions.
Transferium is strengthening its position in the Port of Ghent with the acquisition of a new site at Riemekaai 75, formerly home to building materials supplier DeJaegher. The 2.3-hectare site offers both open-air and covered storage space, along with additional office facilities.
This expansion aligns seamlessly with our existing operations in Ghent. The new location is adjacent to our Rieme Kaai South concession (acquired in 2022) and just a few hundred meters from both our headquarters and the Sea Terminal Ghent. In 2024, we also added Rieme North, a 3.1-hectare site for which a permit application is currently in progress to build additional storage facilities.
With this strategic acquisition, Transferium now manages 9 hectares of logistics space in the Port of Ghent, representing more than 100,000 m² of storage capacity.
“The acquisition of this site strengthens our logistics capacity in the Port of Ghent and offers increased flexibility to our clients. Its proximity to our existing terminals allows for integrated and efficient services,” says Nicola Samyn, CEO of Transferium.
Focus on Sustainable and Efficient Logistics
Transferium continues to invest in multimodal transport and environmentally friendly logistics solutions. Our recent acquisition of the River Terminal in Roeselare – a modern 1.8-hectare transshipment platform – is another step in our long-term sustainability strategy.
These targeted investments allow us to further support our clients with flexible and future-proof logistics services.
